FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions — DTF Printing & Apparel Production in Tunisia

Essential answers about our services, files, quantities and how to start a project.

Services and scope

What services does Kontex offer?

Kontex offers two services: DTF Printing and Full Production. DTF Printing covers printing your artwork onto garments. Full Production covers the garment-making process from start to finish, with the technical steps needed for your project.

What is the difference between DTF Printing and Full Production?

DTF Printing applies to existing garments: you choose the product and we print your artwork. Full Production makes the garment to your specifications, from textile selection through finishing. Choose DTF to customise an existing product, or Full Production to develop a product for your brand.

Do you offer sewing on its own?

Sewing is not offered as a standalone service at present. It is part of Full Production, alongside the other steps needed to make a garment. We can review your need from an idea, design or tech pack.

Do you do graphic design or logo creation?

Kontex does not sell standalone graphic design. Technical preparation for printing, such as scaling and resolution checks, can be reviewed with your request. For Full Production, we work from your design or tech pack.

Do you work with individuals?

Kontex works primarily with businesses: brands, companies, restaurants, sports clubs, universities and associations. The minimum order is 30 pieces. If your project reaches that volume, we can review your request regardless of your status.

Quantities

What is your minimum order quantity?

The minimum quantity is 30 pieces per order for the Full Production journey. For DTF Printing, send us the product and quantity you need so we can confirm the format suited to your request.

Can I mix sizes and colours in one order?

Yes, one order can include several sizes. Colour splits depend on the availability of the chosen product; we confirm feasibility while reviewing your quote.

Printing and fabrics

What is DTF printing?

DTF, or Direct-to-Film, is a textile printing method. Artwork is printed onto transfer film and then applied to the garment with a heat press. It is useful for detailed artwork, with the suitable product and fabric reviewed for each project.

DTF or screen printing — which should I choose?

DTF is often considered for small and medium runs or detailed artwork. If another decoration method is being considered, we review the fabric, desired finish and quantity as part of the quote. Our team guides you toward the method suited to the project.

Does DTF work on dark garments?

Dark garments can be reviewed for DTF printing. Send us the product, colour and artwork so we can confirm the expected finish and suitable settings before production.

Which fabrics does DTF work on?

Suitability depends on the textile, its treatment and the finish you want. We check the material and product at quote stage; for an unusual fabric, a test may be recommended before the run.

Artwork files

What file format should I send?

Vector PDF, AI or SVG is ideal. A transparent PNG may also work depending on the artwork size and quality. We check your file before production and flag any resolution, colour or margin issue.

My file is low resolution — is that a problem?

It depends on the print size. A low-resolution file may work at a small size but become soft when enlarged. We review your file at quote stage and clearly explain whether the planned result is suitable.

Pricing and quotes

How much does DTF printing cost in Tunisia?

Price depends on quantity, printed area, number of print placements and the product chosen. We do not publish a flat rate: each quote is calculated from the project details. Send your artwork and quantity for an estimate suited to your request.

How do I get a quote?

Use the quote form or contact us on WhatsApp with the product type, quantity, sizes and artwork. The more complete your brief, the more clearly we can confirm the scope, options and next steps.

Approval

What is a BAT or production proof?

A BAT is the approval document reviewed before production starts. It sets out the artwork, dimensions, placement, product, colours and quantities by size. It gives both sides a clear project reference before the production run.

Delivery and tracking

Do you deliver across Tunisia?

We review delivery requests across Tunisia. Arrangements depend on the address, volume and project, and are clarified with your quote. Collection from the Ksar Hellal workshop can also be discussed.

Can I track my order?

We share the next steps for your order and the tracking information available to you. The level of detail depends on the journey chosen; ask us for the tracking option suited to your project when it is confirmed.

Company and confidentiality

Where are you based?

Kontex is based in Ksar Hellal, in the Monastir Governorate, at the centre of Tunisia's textile cluster. We serve clients across Tunisia and receive visitors at the workshop by appointment.

Are my designs kept confidential?

We handle your files and project details discreetly. If your project needs a specific confidentiality framework, tell us before sending files so we can agree the appropriate process.

How do I reach you?

The most direct channel is WhatsApp on +216 26 892 463, available 7 days a week from 10:00 to 04:00. You can also use the quote form on this site or email us for a formal request.
